I’ve learned a lot through this process—especially from the places where things didn’t go as planned.

Some delays and missteps came from me not recognizing the red flags when I should have. I see them now.

I’m not here to dwell on the past, but to clarify where we are.

The Mercury Oracle is real. I’m committed to getting it to you. And this message is part of restoring the path forward.

Mercury Oracle January Update

Hello Everyone,

A quick update,

It’s been a minute since I’ve been able to make an update, but I am reading all of your comments. If I haven’t yet responded, I will today and tomorrow. Since January 4th, I’ve been recovering from a weird norovirus going around (a wandering head cold that turns into the stomach flu). During this time, the City of Altadena experienced devastating fires, leaving at least 30 people in my immediate community homeless.

Thanks to the selfless people who came together, we were able to turn the Snail Farm—our home and community space—into a Mutual Aid and Donation Distribution Center while waiting for FEMA, which took some time. It’s amazing how quickly people can enact change when there’s a need. Just know that I hear you, I see you, and I appreciate you.

This project has taken everything I have—my energy, my creativity, and my dedication—to bring it to life. It’s been a labor of love through sickness, disaster, and countless hurdles. But through all of this, I have not stopped. I am deeply committed to delivering the Mercury Oracle decks you’ve supported and believed in. Every package is crafted with care, and every step forward is fueled by your encouragement.

Doubt is the enemy of progress and the killer of magik. Have no doubt that I am delivering on all promises. When we come together, we can make things happen right here and right now.

I believe it is our duty to hold compassion—in the way we speak, in the way we behave, and in the way we treat ourselves. I am a medium and artist learning to manufacture and distribute, not the other way around. This project has brought immense challenges. Some things I am learning to do much better, but the biggest setback came from the original factory, which nearly made the production of the Mercury Oracle impossible. Yet, through the efforts of many, here we are, against all odds, nearly at the top of the mountain. I could have shipped the initial decks earlier, but I would never send anything that wasn’t of the absolute quality you deserve.

I know you’re as excited as I am to receive your decks! 

SHIPPING:

Shipping has picked up as more people from this community book readings with me. Initially, I was taking tips (mostly anonymous) on videos, but I’ve realized connecting with you directly is a better way to go. I’ve been recording videos at a pay-what-you-want level and using the funds to ship. Some folks have even reached out in need of guidance, and I’ve been happy to read for them for free.

Kickstarter is a fundraising platform and, in many ways, a gamble. I remember my brother backing an artist’s project and receiving it six years later. I’m working diligently to raise funds on my end through design work, commissions, and general labor, putting everything I make into shipping—and it’s working, albeit slowly.

This is the fifth year of this project, and we are rounding the final corner. I recently learned that it typically takes about two years to receive a deck from Kickstarter, so I’d like to remind everyone that we are, ultimately, on time! That said, many aspects of this project have not followed the typical Kickstarter path.
